Mission and Goals of the School Library Media Program
Causey Middle School Library media Center strives for life-long learning and academic success. Our mission is to create a student-centered library media center that provides a safe, nurturing environment in which students can successfully seek information and ideas for their educational, informational, and recreational needs. We provide materials, services, programs and activities that encourage staff and students to become effective users of ideas and information. Our mission requires the coordinated teamwork of a dedicated faculty, goal-oriented students, involved parents, and a supportive community.
The mission of the library media program is to ensure that students and staff are effective users of ideas and information. This mission is accomplished:
By providing intellectual and physical access to materials in all formats
By providing instruction to foster competence and stimulate interest in reading, viewing, and using information and ideas
By working with other educators to design learning strategies to meet the needs
of individual students.”
